hip hop # 1

I think that record label would rather promote gangsta rap because it sells more units. I agree with this quote because record labels only care about making money. So if the media likes it they will put it out even if it has a negative image to put out. I think reasons like these are the reason for negative stereotypes. I agree with the quote” who’s making decisions about what people see who’s making the decisions about what gets the multimillion dollar contracts? And overwhelmingly, its not-this is no secret- overwhelmingly, its white men in suits who are makin' those decisions and they're deciding, you know,’this makes money, I'm gonna sell it. I don't care if it's hurting people; who, who-it’s a business decision, right?"

Killing Me Softly/ Tough Guys

I thought that the movie about women in the media was a semi correct movie. I thought that the women the spoke about and made the movie was extreme. She made strong statements about how women are being portrayed in the media. The statements she made were partially correct. She made many statements how about how commercials are influencing young girls to become very thin. Using anorexia and bulimia to achieve a thin size. She used how men are portrayed as superior to women in the media. Except if there is a different race evolved. The tactics she used to show how women are portrayed as sex symbols in the media are; she used commercials’ that have women advertising with hardly any clothes on. She used these commercials to convince her viewers her views on the subject. Some of the views she stated on her program , I disagreed with her. An example of one of her statements was an commercials. This commercials had a girl picking flowers and Jean Kilmore had said that this is saying that women are weak individuals . I strongly disagree with her statement. I think that the girl was portrayed as a nice sweet little girl. Overall I thought that Jean Kilmores' movie was semi right. I thought see really didn't give men the same respect as she did to women.

The second movie that I watched was called Tough Guys. This movie was about how many men are supposed to be aggressive. In this movie Tough Guys the showed how in the media men are supposed to be tough. They also showed how in movies men have been portrayed as tough through the years. They also show how men are going crazy because of this tough guy image. They showed clips from school shootings and how they have been making guys seem tougher through the years. In an example the showed how the weapon size has been growing year after year. Overall I thought the movie Tough Guys was an movie about men in the media.

Concept 2

The concept I thought was a good promotional technique was concept #2. Thought the use of bright colors was a great marketing concept. Concept #2 used bright colors ,big letters, and familiar names. By incorporating these techniques it is very easy to see how this companies are doing good. Concept #2 is a great way to get your product out there to be noticed
